LEADING NEVADA IN TECHNOLOGY AND PERSONALIZED CARE

Allergy issues in the Spring effecting your mood?

I thought that this was an interesting article. It relates to something that I hear patients say to me frequently. When the seasons change they feel somewhat more depressed. Initially, I had thought it was because of the itchy eyes, dripping nose, coughing and wheezing. However, these seasonal allergies may be affecting our mood.

Research has shown that there is about a 50% increase in the risk for depression in a person suffering allergies. Dr. Paul Marshall, from Hennepin County Medical Center (I have been there, great people) notes that if you have been seen by an allergist it triples your likelihood of having depression!!!!

Give this article a read, and see what you think:  Are you always sad in the spring?
